Job Title: PLANT MANAGER
The Plant Manger reports to Director of Operations and is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of our manufacturing facility. This role ensures the productions processes are efficient, cost effective and meet quality standards. They will lead a team of supervisors to achieve production goals while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing operations to ensure the most effect return on assets
- Confer with other departments to coordinate operations and/or activities, as needed
- Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital
- Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations
- Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports the company’s strategic initiatives
- Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout plant departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad hoc basis, depending on need
- Encourage new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving
- Strategically adjust and balance personnel to maintain set labor efficiency targets
- Build a cohesive, engaged team while raising the quality of personnel and creating “bench strength” in the organization. They will lead by example.
- Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes
- Work to establish management practices throughout plant which include all employees’ positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action
- Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes
- Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas
- Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
