Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) to join our team on a per diem basis for home sleep testing. As a CPSGT specializing in home testing, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders by providing remote support to patients undergoing sleep studies in the comfort of their own homes.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with patients to schedule home sleep tests and provide instructions on test setup and usage of sleep monitoring equipment.
Ship home sleep testing kits to patients and ensure timely delivery and return of equipment.
Conduct virtual or telephone consultations with patients to review test instructions, answer questions, and address concerns.
Review completed home sleep studies to ensure data quality and adherence to testing protocols.
Score sleep studies and analyze data to identify sleep stages, respiratory events, and other parameters indicative of sleep disorders.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret test results and recommend appropriate treatment options for patients.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient interactions, test results, and treatment recommendations.
Provide ongoing support and education to patients on sleep hygiene practices, treatment compliance, and equipment troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) required.
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited polysomnographic technology program preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience performing sleep studies, including experience with home sleep testing.
Proficiency in operating home sleep testing equipment and troubleshooting technical issues remotely.
Strong knowledge of sleep disorders, diagnostic criteria, and treatment modalities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide patient education and support remotely.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote setting.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Schedule: This is a per diem position with flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate patient needs for home sleep testing.
