Our differentiated data, analytics, and technology lets us create the insights that power decisions to move people forward. Data is at our core. The Head of Enterprise Data Architecture is responsible for the artifacts and practices used to define data requirements, guide integration and control of data assets, and align data investments with business strategy, including required data structures at various levels of abstraction. This includes logical and conceptual models (e.g., domains, subdomains, schemas, and common data elements), ontologies and standards for common data vocabulary, metadata requirements, and processes to align those business components with the physical data environment, IT processes, and governance.
What you’ll do
Report to the Global Enterprise Data Officer, and lead global teams through our center of excellence structure.
Work closely with global business units to understand their business and data strategies, and the data, processes, and flows needed to support them
Optimize the end-to-end data environment for enterprise data strategies – by simplifying, streamlining, and standardizing reusable data structures and flows where possible, and customizing for specific business uses if needed
Design and drive implementation of an optimal data layer that enables the acquisition, production, storage, analysis, and delivery of data to meet business objectives, acting as a bridge between the data requirements of business and analytic processes, and the physical implementation of that data in technology infrastructure.
Design data domains, taxonomies, ontologies, metadata requirements, and other standards that are critical to ensuring that the meaning of data is precise and unambiguous, and that data is accessible and aligned with business purpose
Work closely with IT to align underlying physical sources with data domains, logical and conceptual models, authoritative sources, and access points across the enterprise – maximizing value and use, and minimizing data expense, technical debt, and remediation costs
Partner with IT to ensure ongoing management of the data architecture through SDLC, IT, and other governance processes
What experience you need
Bachelors degree, preferably in social sciences; advanced degree in business (preferred)
10 years of data analysis, modeling, and architecture experience, particularly applied to common and specific business uses

Demonstrated expertise designing data structures and solutions in multiple companies, businesses, and infrastructures based on a deep understanding of the business and technical environment
Deep expertise with a variety of data modeling techniques and tools across a variety of platforms and architecture patterns
