The programme

The programme lasts for 2-years and includes rotations of 3-12 months across functions, business areas.

The position

Market Analysis and Trading reside within MMP, the commercial business area responsible for maximizing the value of Equinor’s global energy production.

We are responsible for optimizing the portfolio of crude oil, petroleum products, natural gas, and electricity, including transportation infrastructure to ensure Equinor’s production reaches the markets in a reliable and efficient manner.

Furthermore, we are responsible for developing low carbon solutions covering CO2 capture, transport and storage, low carbon hydrogen and clean power projects.

When joining the team you will be part of a commercial area with close to 1,000 employees working within:

  • External analysis: energy markets, macroeconomics, geopolitics, competitors, industry, policy and regulations, crude oil evaluation
  • Trading: commodity and algorithmic trading, chartering, risk management and business development in energy markets.
  • Energy logistics: commercial operations and contract management, value chain improvements and digitalization
  • Asset and commodity optimization: asset management, production- and portfolio optimization
  • Project roles in Low Carbon Solutions (LCS) such as carbon capture and storage, transition to hydrogen energy etc.
  • New market development (e.g., carbon offset and low-carbon footprint certification)

You

For This Position We Are Looking For Those With

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or PhD with good academic record within business, industrial economics, economics, finance, political science, law, shipping, logistics, innovation, chemistry, engineering, technical and process safety, naval architecture, marine technology, offshore technology, maritime law, energy management, data science and data management
  • Completed degree within year of starting (2025)
  • Fluent in English
  • No more than two years of relevant fulltime work experience
  • Formal experience is not a requirement  
  • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work is an advantage
