Senior Staff Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision of Private Equity Group Controller, focusing on month-end close and controls the general ledger accounts., applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.

Senior Staff Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of financial statements including preparation of the balance sheet schedules, income statement, and ancillary reporting
• Perform the monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing process and report
• Execute the month end close process and yearly closings
• Oversee the AP and AR processes
• Accountable for posting and review of complex account reconciliations
• Perform analysis and monitoring of GL accounts monthly
• Support the Group Controller in the completion of special projects, ad-hoc reporting, analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned
• Perform bank reconciliations and provides guidance to accountants relating to accounting processes and reconciliations
• Maintain audit schedules and responds to audit inquiries
• Assist with the treasury process of outgoing wires, stop payments, and reporting
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with management to resolve issues and support achievement of goals

Qualifications: Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of three to five years' experience
• Bilingual/Spanish strongly preferred
• Demonstrates firm understanding of how to apply GAAP to general ledger accounting
