Description
The Business Systems Support Specialist is responsible for reviewing and implementing business required logic, per requests, in the administration system. The incumbent is responsible for acquiring knowledge of existing systems/procedures and gathering information to help facilitate resolution of system issues. The Business Systems Support Specialist must maintain technical knowledge of products and processing in order to develop and maintain adequate requirements, development and testing documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops new scripts per specifications including unit testing completed scripts, reviewing changes with business analyst, and developing required documentation as defined by company development standards.
- Maintains strict adherence to standards for documentation, development techniques, testing, and other related development activity.
- Maintains existing scripts as per project task specifications including coding the alterations, testing the corrected scripts and updating the required documentation as defined by company development standards.
- Participates in walk-throughs of script design, coding, and testing in order to minimize occurrence of program problems.
- Keeps up-to-date on business process changes and new products to identify new opportunities for efficiencies, new scripts required, or modifications based on changing requirements.
- Keeps designated individuals informed on project/work status.
- Continues to focus on developing technical and business skills to best support system applications.
- Supports the Information Technology team and other departments on an as needed basis.
- Willingly takes on additional responsibilities as requested in order to accomplish department and Company objectives.
- Actively participates and contributes to the goals and objectives of the Company by working collaboratively and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Training or Work Experience:
- If high school diploma or equivalent, minimum 4 years programming experience required.
- If Associates degree, minimum 2 years programming experience required.
- If Bachelor’s degree, minimum 0 years programming experience required.
- Experience working in an insurance company preferred.
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Travel not likely/required.
