Equity ECS is a full service commercial real estate firm. As the General Superintendent, you are responsible for the overall field staff and leading a team of superintendents to ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to; communication is flowing back and forth efficiently and effectively; safety is the priority; scheduling, budget, and quality are maintained; and client satisfaction is always a focus in order drive additional business.
You are the connector from the office and project managers to the field team.
You will be a collaborator, partner, driver, and relationship creator with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and internal team members, alike. This position reports to the Director of Operations, ECS, or his/her designee and is expected to apply industry knowledge and expertise to carry out responsibilities effectively.
What are the Key Objectives:
- Responsible for ensuring safety standards are maintained by superintendents and trade contractors alike.
- Oversee safety program for ECS – training, compliance, and communication.
- Ensure safe and clean job sites are maintained
- Responsible for setting the example according to the Mission of ECS, Corporate Values while protecting ECS against risks
- Elevate and enhance company perception through overall leadership
- Participate in sales presentations as needed
- Create and execute annual field initiatives for ECS operations
- Maintain client satisfaction and networking in preferred markets
- Provide leadership and guidance to field regarding overall project makeup – scheduling, materials, methods, sequencing and staffing
- Cultivate subcontractor/vendor relationships
- Attend Project Turnover meetings
- Oversee the overarching project schedules to ensure each superintendent and project team is meeting project milestones
- Continually communicate relevant information to project teams
- Ensure the project budgets are known and adhered to
- Develop best practices based on industry knowledge and company needs
- Responsible to partner with project teams to maintain staff runoff schedule for all north region and partner with HR to ensure staffing needs are known
- Coordinate and communicate with superintendents surrounding associate and sub-contractor performance and productivity through project observations and reviews
- Actively work with HR on associate life-cycle for north region operations
- Oversee job specific and safety training and development of field staff in partnership with HR
- Ensure compliance with corporate goals, policies, and procedures for all direct reports in north region
What You Offer
- Bachelors in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred.
- 15 years prior experience of general contracting experience required.
- OSHA 30 hour certification required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore and Bluebeam preferred.
