JOB SUMMARY: The Qualified Plans Specialist administers Solo 401(k) plans, including calculating contributions, monitoring IRC 415 limits, providing annual reports, and develop client relationships. Handles customer service inquiries and solves operational issues and annual regulatory compliance requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:•Responds to inquiries from plan sponsors regarding account balances, participant distributions and loans, and tax reporting•Completes annual plan administration in recordkeeping system inclusive of 402(g) and 415 testing, annual valuation, annual participant statement preparation, RMD calculation and processing, Forms 5500EZ preparation, plan conversions/de-conversions, Solo 401(k) new plan documents, plan amendments and document restatements•Opens new plan and participant accounts•Reviews and submits investment documents to internal teams to be processed in the appropriate time frame•Processes contributions, distributions, and participant loan payments•Balances trust system to mutual fund trading partnerOTHER FUNCTIONS:•Works directly with plan sponsors and participants via phone and email on all aspects of plan administration and recordkeeping•Ensures data accuracy and reconciles accounts•Works on special projects as necessary •Performs other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:•High School Diploma or equivalent •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred•Minimum 2 years of experience in the financial services industry•Minimum 2 years of experience with administration of 401(k) plansPROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:•None requiredTECHNICAL SKILLS:•Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office•Working knowledge of recordkeeping systems (experience in FIS Relius software a plus)BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:In addition to the Core Company competencies of Cultivates Innovation, Nimble Learning, Action Oriented, Collaborates, and Being Resilient:•Communicates Effectively•Manages Complexity •Resourcefulness•Balances StakeholdersPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:This job operates in a professional office environment.
