Position Overview:

We seek a virtual paralegal with expertise in Probate,  at least three years of recent experience in a law firm setting, and proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe, and video conferencing platforms. This position is for individuals based in the mountain or Pacific time zone, offering the freedom to work from home.

The selected paralegal will come on board as a W-2 employee (not a 1099 independent contractor), with a minimum availability of 20 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week. The starting pay for this role is $22/hr.

• Position requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3 years of recent experience working as a paralegal in a probate law firm
• Experience preparing pleadings, motions, petitions, and guardianship applications for a probate law office
• Ability to review and understand wills and trusts
• Experience corresponding with banks, businesses, insurance companies, brokerage firms, employers, accountants and others to collect asset information
• Experience corresponding with creditors and debtors to obtain pertinent information
• Experience preparing asset lists, inventories and accountings
• Experience coordinating with CPAs and other financial professionals to prepare tax returns
• Experience with estate planning and probate software, preferably Wealth Counsel
• Experience using practice management software, preferably Clio, PC Law, or Serengeti
• Expert proficiency with utilizing all programs within Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Advanced proficiency with Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Google Sheets
• Experience editing PDFs
• Availability to respond to requests within an hour during the hours of 9 AM - 6 PM, Monday – Friday EST
• Your own Windows PC/laptop and smartphone with broadband access to the Internet
