Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes and directs comprehensive recreation programs within the Job Corps Program
- Develops and promotes recreational programs which meet the needs of all trainees
- Schedules of activities in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner
- Extends partnerships to other recreational providers in the community
- Oversees the staffing patterns and development of all staff within department
- Submits Calendar of Events for review on a monthly basis. Due to the Director of Social Development by the 15th of each month
- Meets with new students during first week of Stay and monitors trainee participation in various activities based on spending limits
- Ensures activity costs and trainee participation logs are reconciled with Accounting Department
- Maintains stock of trainee Uniforms and various other athletic garments
- Schedules a variety of recreational programs which encourages maximum trainee participation leading to positive social behaviors
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Physical Education or related field; or four to six years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/First Aid Certifications
- Must be able to perform supervisory functions of planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of recreation programs and staff
