What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMM Programmer position at ERA Industries, Inc?
ERA Industries is a manufacturer of complex precision machined components and assemblies for the aerospace and military industries primarily serving prime contractors. Our capabilities include but not limited to 5 Axis milling, EDM, Turning, and Aluminum Vacuum Brazing. We specialize in machining of Titanium, Aluminum, Nickel Alloys and Stainless to name a few.
1st shift and 2nd shift candidates are needed as we are growing exponentially. Preferably looking for CMM programmers with Calypso or PC-DMIS experience. If you feel your skills could qualify, we would love to hear from you.
Qualifications:
- Understands and can interpret customer drawings, parts lists, ECOs, including GD&T.
- 2 years experience operating, programming and maintaining a CMM.
- 3 years experience using, calibrating and setting of manual inspection devices such as bore gages, micrometers (various kinds), dial indicators, height gages, thread and pin gages, microscopes for visual inspection, profilometers, optical comparators and Rockwell testers.
Duties & expectations:
- Operate CMM in a manner that is safe, analyzing product and meeting production expectations set forth by immediate supervisor.
- Measure and inspect parts with best and most practical methods whether using a CMM, Manual inspection tools, visual inspections or any method that will produce accurate results and best efficiencies
- Program CMM for new parts, processes to insure quality product during setup, in-process and final inspections.
- When needed, train alternates on how to operate a CMM.
- Save CMM programs on server for follow on requirements.
- Support needs of production personnel.
- Work to train programmers, set up and operators when applicable with inspection methodology.
- Be team leader and work as a team member to insure quality product and efficiencies.
- Report any maintenance issues to Maintenance Manager or Director of Quality.
- Look to continuous improvement of processes and job performance and understand the contribution to the effectiveness of the QMS.
- Work with programmers and set up personnel for any technical issues or trouble shooting when needed.
- Document work on in-process inspection plans, FAI documents, router, CMM programs, ERP system as applicable to maintain traceability and quality records.
- Keep clean and organized work area and maintain a positive attitude.
- Communicate any concerns or issues related to production of parts, safety and quality to immediate supervisor for particular machine or project.
- Only use calibrated measuring equipment whether personal or company supplied. When found not in proper calibration have corrected immediately.
- Handle inspection equipment, machines and parts in a manner that will not cause damage or deterioration.
- In the event of lack of work or another department needing assistance, may be asked to do any of the following but not limited to: Cleaning, Gage Management, In-process inspection of ongoing production parts or other related duties in a manufacturing setting.
- Aware of quality policies, procedures, objectives, contribution to conformance of product, safety and ethics.
