Transportation Construction Inspector

The Transportation Construction Inspector will be responsible for all office documentation for daily Roadway and Bridge construction inspection activities for compliance with specifications and other regulations.

Responsibilities

• Complete documentation of a wide variety of construction activities by the contractor confirming all work is being done in accordance with specifications.
• Review and interpret contract and job specifications
• Maintain daily paperwork in accordance with clients’ requirements

Requirements

• Perform math calculations
• Proficient computer skills
• Detail oriented
• A valid driver’s license is required
• Physical requirements
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Walk several miles per day
  • Work in the outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Work various shifts including overtime as needed
  • Travel to project sites

Eligibility

• 2 years minimum of transportation, highway or bridge construction inspection experience; or 4 years minimum of highway or bridge construction
• Associates Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Construction Management; or Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering field
• Preferred but not required certifications - NICET highway construction level II, PennDOT concrete, NECEPT bituminous
