We currently have an opening for a Financial Analyst in our Energy and Specialty Services (E&SS) business unit at our corporate headquarters in Flowood, Mississippi.

The primary objective of the Financial Analyst is to contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations within Ergon Energy and Specialty Solutions. This includes assisting in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting activities, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance overall financial performance. The role aims to provide a platform for professional growth by offering exposure to various aspects of financial planning, risk management, and investment evaluation. Through active involvement in capital projects, process improvement, and collaborative initiatives, the Junior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the company's financial goals and objectives.

Financial Analyst Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Basic understanding of financial analysis and reporting.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other basic financial tools.

Financial Analyst Responsibilities:

• Financial Analysis and Reporting:
  • Assist in conducting financial analysis, including profit and loss analysis, budget vs. actual analysis, and key performance indicator analysis.
  • Support in monitoring and reporting on key financial metrics, providing valuable insights to contribute to decision-making processes.
• Budgeting and Planning:
  • Aid in the preparation of annual financial budgets and quarterly updates for the business unit.
  • Contribute insights to financial planning, risk management, and investment decisions.
• Process Improvement and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities for process improvement in global financial operations, actively participating in implementing best practices.
  • Support efforts to streamline financial workflows and reporting systems.
• Capital Project Assistance:
  • Assist in the creation and management of Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) for capital projects, including setup, spending curves, and closeouts.
• Cross-functional Support:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to cash flow, working capital, and liquidity projections.
  • Support supply chain teams in developing financial models for analyzing supply and demand patterns.
• Investment Evaluation Assistance:
  • Collaborate with project teams to contribute to financial evaluations of potential investments in energy projects, assessing risks, returns, and alignment with the company's financial goals.
  • Support in monitoring and analyzing the financial performance of investments.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. A clean MVR is required.
