Position Summary
The Project Drafting Assistant will be responsible for completing tasks assigned by project engineers. Tasks include, but are not limited to, organizing new projects, material takeoffs for initial ordering, reviewing drawing package and specifications for details.
Key role responsibilities
• Working directly with teammates in a close environment
• Building structure knowledge
• Understand and navigate construction drawings
• Ability to convert verbal and written information into two dimensional drawing
• Document control and Windows navigation
• Printing, collating and preparing final installation documents
Qualifications and experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
•Two years of architectural drafting preferred.
• Electrical trade school completion preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and materials, specific to the electrical industry preferred, but not required.
• Detail oriented and ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks
• Experience in commercial-residential electrical construction preferred.
• Work with Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Bluebeam Revu highly preferred.
• Ability to navigate through drafting software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks) preferred, but not required.
