The Erie County Republican Committee is looking to hire 1-2 Political Staffers to be key operators in the upcoming New York State Gubernatorial Election in 2022. This election cycle our Party is focused on winning a number of Assembly, Senate, and Congressional races and electing a Republican Governor in New York State. This is a good opportunity for entry-level applicants who want to build on their education, grow their network, and build a career in politics and government.

Key Qualities:

  • Generally flexible, and able to adapt to pressured situations.
  • Customer service experience with good interpersonal communications skills.
  • Strong writing and proofreading ability.
  • General understanding of our electoral process.
  • Eagerness to learn

Job Description:

  • Planning fundraising or community engagement events.
  • General office administration including record keeping, answering phone calls, emails, and drafting letters.
  • Must be confident to engage with local elected officials, party leaders, and campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Assist in the political goals of the office, partnering with campaigns across Erie County.

Suggested Skills

  • Excel, Word, and the ability to mail-merge lists for letters and labels.
  • Solution-driven work ethic; able to problem solve quickly, under pressure.
  • Strong writing and proofreading abilities.
  • Experience in graphic design is a plus.

From getting Republicans on the ballot to celebrations on election night, this staff position will assist with campaigning across Erie County. Successful staffers at the Erie County Republican Committee have gone on to work in Albany, NY, and Washington, D.C as staffers, government affairs specialists, and candidates for office.
