High School SEL Curriculum Materials Selection Committee

2 Regular Education Teachers

2 Special Education Teachers

2 English Language Learner Teachers

2 Guidance Counselors

2 Mental Health Specialist

2 Behavior Interventionist

Location: Administration Building

Responsibilities: Using CASEL and research-based best practices as a foundation,

professionals on this committee will collaboratively evaluate and select an SEL

curriculum or evidence-based practices for high school. CASEL Competencies and

Indicators will be presented to the committee, along with a rubric in which to evaluate

SEL curricula and practices. The committee will use the information and rubric to

explore and to recommend materials for purchase to the Superintendent of Schools.

Requirements: 

Committee members should: 

Currently teach/work in a High School building 

Make every effort to attend all meetings. 

Commit to the following dates and times of committee work: 

Monday, February 5 4:00-5:30 Introduction to CASEL & SEL and

Rubric 

Monday, February 12 4:00-5:30 Review and Selection of Vendors for

Presentations 

Monday, February 26 4:00-5:30 Vendor Presentations #1 

Monday, March 4 4:00-5:30 Vendor Presentations #2 

Monday, March 11 4:00-5:30 Vendor Presentations #3 

Monday, March 18 4:00-5:30 Vendor Selection 

Be available to present selection to the Board of Directors 

District will: 

Ensure payment at the contractual rate for meetings and an additional hour of program

review outside of committee time. 

Expectations: 

Participants have a working knowledge of CASEL Standards and Social Emotional

Learning
