Job Summary:
Reporting to the Reporting and Analytics Manager, the Reporting Application Analyst III is responsible for the development and support of analytical and operational reports. As part of the development effort, this person will work with departments to evaluate process flows and identify opportunities to improve the process flow with the implementation of reports. This individual will work with SQL Server Management Studio, Crystal Reports, Business Objects and other reporting tools and be responsible as the lead person responsible for coordinating updates/upgrades and ensuring appropriate support procedures are in place.
The Reporting Application Analyst III works independently and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks. Days and hours worked may be variable.

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information management or business administration

Equivalent combination of education and experience

Five years' experience working with SQL reporting required
Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL queries. Demonstrated
working knowledge of office applications (Word, Excel, email) required

Complete education and pass certification in assigned EPIC application module(s) within 120 days of completed education/hire.
Experience with Crystal reports and Business Objects.

Department Position Summary:
The Reporting Analyst III must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively support SQL queries, Crystal Reports, Business Objects Reports and associated reporting modules. The Reporting Analyst III will work with Application Analysts, end users and vendors to support the reports through monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting and applying enhancements. The employee must:
Build, test and support new reports along with supporting existing production reports
Provide expert knowledge of the enterprise reporting tools and utilize standards and procedures to ensure uniform quality in all projects
Lead in development of reports and report modifications according to agreed specifications
Develop tactical and project plans to implement integrated departmental, enterprise and external applications solutions
Analyze requests for new reports and report modifications, working with department and vendor staff to familiarize self with applications being reported on and to develop detailed specifications
Work with departmental staff to understand process flow and identify opportunities for process improvement with implementation of new reports or report modifications
Maintain expert technical proficiency that is required to support reporting projects deliverables and to support the reporting environment
Execute task assignments within established timeframes and comply with requirements for status reporting
Identify process improvements for existing and new reports
Follow approved methodologies for testing and implementing reports, including appropriate change control procedures and documentation
Maintain knowledge of current SQL protocols, standards and data sets, as well as industry plans for future development and trends with SQL standards
Administer reporting application, ensuring that appropriate monitoring, problem reporting and problem escalation procedures are in place
Possess expert technical knowledge and ability to analyze, research and troubleshoot reporting software applications
Organize and lead specification meetings
Demonstrate initiative, creativity and flexibility in problem resolution
Exercise good judgment and effective management of work time
