What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Data Scientist position at ERPMark Inc?
Role: Chief Data Scientist
Location: Virginia (Hybrid Model)
Job Type: Contract to Hire / Full Time.
A Chief Data Scientist focusing on this project should have (or represent a team with) extensive experience working with various NLP techniques and algorithms, such as text pre-processing/model development, model evaluation, model explainability, and model deployment.
Text preprocessing and model development: Proficiency in techniques for cleaning, preprocessing, and transforming unstructured text data into structured formats suitable for machine learning algorithms is essential. This includes text normalization, stemming, lemmatization, vectorization methods such as TF-IDF/sentence embeddings (i.e., sentence-transformers), fine-tuning of pre-trained language models (i.e., BERT), and sentiment analysis.
Model evaluation: Expertise in assessing the performance of NLP models using appropriate evaluation metrics (i.e., accuracy, F1 score) and identifying model bias across subgroups.
Model explainability: Expertise in tools used to explain classifications made by the model. Proficiency in NLP explainability tools, such as SHAP/gensim and visualization libraries in Python, R, and/or REACT.
Model deployment: Expertise in deploying NLP-based analytical tools/dashboards at scale in AWS environments. Experience with creating workflows integrating continuous model testing, development, and deployment.
In addition to identifying under and over citations based on the NLP representations of inspection reports, the Chief Data Scientist should also be able to demonstrate expertise in developing and deploying non-NLP classification models (i.e., logistic regression, tree-based models).
