What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Technician position at Ervin Cable?
A successful Fleet Technician shall assist with administration of vehicle operation program by performing various fleet tasks including upfitting, decaling, auditing, inspecting, and transporting company vehicles, trailers, and equipment. At a minimum, the position requires the ability to travel for extended periods of time; a good working knowledge of DOT regulations; proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet the ability to follow instructions and communicate verbally and in writing; with emphasis on Microsoft Office; ability to use a computer and other office related equipment; ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data; ability to pass a DOT physical.
- the ability to operate motor vehicles in excess of 10,000 lbs. GVWR
- the ability to read understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness;
- excellent manual dexterity;
- the ability to organize workload to determine priority of duties;
- the ability to communicate with Company personnel, vendors, and contractors to ensure tasks are completed.

This is a travel position with Bessemer, AL being home office!
Qualifications
- Completion of high level tasks in support of an assigned department/project.
- Completion of low level labor intensive tasks in support of an assigned department/project.
- Completion of daily production reports to document work performed.
- Read, interpret, and input data in support of an assigned department/project.
- Additional Duties as assigned.
