Purpose of Role: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the ladles and vessels, relining with multi-components the AOD vessels, bottom pour ladles, transfer ladles and the making of stopper rods, cleans the old linings out of the ladles with the use of a chipping gun and installs the appropriate lining, removes the burned bricks from the AOD vessel and re-bricks the vessel, positions and moves the ladles, vessels and refractory materials with an overhead crane.

Key Responsibilities:
- Focus Area: Follows the Ladle Refractory Flow Charts and MWI for all refractory work. Focus Area: Maintains the condition of all ladles/vessels by chipping the solidified slag or metal away from all exterior components and building components to maintain rotation of ladles/vessels. Focus Area: Must inform Team Leader or supervisor to any unfavorable ladle, vessel or stopper rod conditions/shortages. Focus Area: Must perform refractory work on both Ladles & Vessels which will require lifting loads up to 50 lbs. Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Day shift 5 AM to 1 PM
- Afternoon Shift 1 PM to 9 PM
- Night shift Split between both the shift
- Education: High school diploma/GED
- Experience: None
- Certifications/Licenses: None
- Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Good reading, writing, mathematical, and verbal skills
