GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for many of the day-to-day operations of the Campus in regard to sourcing and purchasing food to be prepared in class.
This position is similar to traditional procurement for the back of the house of a restaurant with the exception that the menu will vary widely depending on what students are learning in a given week’s class. In additional to overseeing inventory and orders, the Purchasing Manager will also oversee two to four Federal Student Workers handling any problems that may arise.
The Purchasing Manager is also responsible for ensuring the storeroom and Campus are cleaned and organized.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Place orders with purveyors and receive product daily, ensuring the quality of all orders.
  • Manage all aspects of ChefTc Inventory Software to include: o Input and import of invoices o Management of inventory database
  • Run and input inventory at the end of each month, maintaining proper food cost.
  • Manage uniform and equipment inventory for distribution to students.
  • Track expenses and communicate results to appropriate departments.
  • Process invoices and credit card receipts.
  • Oversees the building of product bins by Federal Work Students and if any item is missed, ensure that a solution is found so that the bin is filled properly.
  • Manage Federal Work Students in maintaining the cleanliness of the storeroom and walkin, as well as the cleanliness of the campus in general.
  • Manage Federal Work Students in other tasks as assigned, such as correctly putting away orders that come into the building, selling beverages and maintaining a cash drawer.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.
  • Work closely with Director of Culinary Operations and Business Office Manager for timely and accurate inventory control.
  • Prepare periodic reports for Campus President | Provost around budget and ongoing forecast.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates preferred.
  • Specialized experience in food, restaurant and event supervision or management, food service operations preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, aggressively follow-up, by phone, system notes, email, etc.
  • Detail Oriented: Careful and with a focus on quality in accomplishing tasks.
  • Time-Management: Manages own time; takes personal responsibility for timeliness of work priorities and resources to achieve results and goals.
  • Coach ability: Being receptive to feedback, willing to learn, embracing continuous improvement
  • Ethics: Has personal and professional ethics and fosters a diverse and respectful workplace.
  • Technological: Demonstrates intermediate ability to use technology to create efficient processes and organizational methods
. • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases and QuickBooks. Experience with accounting software.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Ability to interact with staff, customers and vendors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Reaching, bending, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds.
