As the first connection to the concept the Host at Esme must be able to blend the connection between the arts and our elevated dining world. The right candidate will be able to stay organized while delivering excellent hospitality standards to everyone that walks into our space. This is a part time position with opportunity to grow. JOB DESCRIPTION:
As the first and often last person guests see, the host is responsible for establishing a warm and welcoming tone. Our ideal candidate shares our care for genuine hospitality, authentic guest relations, and all things food and beverage. The host welcomes guests into the space, describing and answering questions about our concept, food and beverage offerings. They are able to perform calmly in a fast-paced environment and multitask with ease.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 or more years of hosting, reservation management, or related experience.
- Ability to work 2-4 days a week. Thursday-Sunday. Shifts range from 2pm-10pm.
- Holds a strong understanding of reservation systems (experience with Tock is a plus).
- Recognizes and welcomes regulars and People of Note, relaying any pertinent information to the kitchen and service team, and tracking guest preferences in Tock.
- Ability to communicate with guests effectively and professionally.
- Ability to stand and walk at a steady pace for extended periods of time (8 hour shifts).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
WHO WE ARE:
Esmé is a Michelin starred restaurant, located in the heart of Lincoln Park. The space is owned and operated by Chef Jenner Tomaska and wife and partner Katrina Bravo. The couple have reimagined the tasting-menu model with philanthropy and art integrated into the foundation of the experience, an expression of their shared vision for the community-focused restaurant.
The team partners with a local artist each season and displays their pieces throughout the restaurant for guests to view and purchase. The culinary team draws inspiration from featured artists to curate a tasting menu to compliment the artwork.
