POSITION TITLE: Estimator- Wet Utilities
PAY STATUS: Non-exempt
SUPERVISES:N/A
PAY RANGE: $150,000- $180,000
General Responsibility:
As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our company's growth by accurately estimating project costs, preparing competitive bids, and contributing to our overall success in the pipe supply industry. Your expertise in estimating and project management will be essential in securing contracts and maintaining our reputation for excellence.
Significant Duties:
Project Estimation:
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand client requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for pipe supply projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other associated costs.
- Collaborate with the sales and procurement teams to obtain accurate pricing information and availability of materials.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Proposal Preparation:
- Create comprehensive and competitive bid proposals for potential projects, including detailed breakdowns of costs.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure all project aspects are considered, such as logistics, delivery schedules, and compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in developing technical and commercial proposals to address the unique needs of each client.
Market Research and Analysis:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market pricing, and emerging technologies.
- Analyze historical data to improve the accuracy of future estimates and to assess project risks.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify potential clients and opportunities in the pipe supply market.
Project Management Support:
- Provide support and input to project managers during the execution phase to ensure the project aligns with the initial estimate and client expectations.
- Monitor and analyze project performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to secure the necessary materials for awarded projects.
Client Interaction:
- Engage with clients to address questions and concerns related to estimates and proposals.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project details and secure new business opportunities.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Extensive experience in pipe supply estimation, with a proven track record of successful projects.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of pipe materials, industry standards, and construction processes.
- Project management experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
The position of Senior Estimator primarily involves mental and analytical tasks related to cost estimation, project management, and coordination. The physical requirements are typically related to office work and occasional site visits or meetings.
