PAY RANGE: $120,000- $140,000
General Responsibilities:
A Paving Superintendent for a road construction company is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the paving operations on construction projects.
Significant Duties:
- Project Management: Manage and supervise paving projects from start to finish, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate paving crews, ensuring that each team member understands their roles and responsibilities.
- Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality standards for paving work, ensuring that the finished product meets specifications and complies with safety regulations.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the use and maintenance of paving equipment, ensuring that all machinery is in good working order and properly utilized.
- Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating paving activities with other construction activities on the site.
- Material Management: Coordinate the delivery and use of paving materials, including asphalt, aggregates, and other necessary components.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all paving activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the paving process, making decisions that keep the project on track.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of project activities, including daily reports, material quantities, and any changes to the original plan.
