Esperanza Health Centers, Federally Qualified Health Center, is seeking an organized, strategic and patient service driven leader to join their Medical Assistant team. The Lead Medical Assistant will be responsible for the overall flow of the clinical area and works with Health Center Manager to schedule coverage and ensure that safety and quality compliance is done in a consistent and timely manner.
Lead Medical Assistant Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead Medical Assistant will work closely with front desk team to ensure efficient patient flow and compliance with established target goals for the clinical area.
- Assists Health Center Manager in determining work schedule for clinical staff to ensure adequate staffing. Reviews schedule on a daily basis and adjusts as needed.
- Serves as a resource in investigating and resolving problems/issues involving patients and/or clinical staff and takes active role in resolving formal written complaints.
- Monitor quality control logs and medical assistant assignments on a monthly basis to insure compliance
- Makes monthly rounds to assure safety and compliance.
- Monitors medical assistant workstations to insure free of clutter, food and beverages.
- Maintain daily log on emergency equipment (oxygen, banyan kit, emergency meds).
Requirements
1. Medical Assistant Certification, required
2. Three or more years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting, required
3. Previous supervisor experience, preferred
4. Experience with Electronic Health Records, required
5. Excellent verbal and written communications skills
6. Bilingual Spanish/English, required
