Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Romeoville, IL area
Job type and Duration: Temp to perm
Client is seeking an experienced BSEE Electrical Engineer to join our team to contribute as a design and development Project Engineer. In this role you will be collaborating closely with customers, internal teams and Underwriters Lab (UL) in a fast-paced environment to develop and release to production custom embedded controls for the commercial cooking and high-end residential market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with customers to develop product specifications and requirements.
• Contribute to design and optimization of Company's products, which include mixed mode electronic circuits, microprocessor-based temperature control, motor speed control, switch mode power supply and various user interfaces.
• Entering/ Optimizing schematic designs from high level architecture designs and reference designs.
• Optimizing designs to minimize unique parts count and reuse existing part libraries and/or readily available components in this current tight component/ supply chain market place.
• Optimizing designs and layout for UL, IEC and EMI requirements.
• Product Documentation including creating product specifications, BOM’s, ECN’s, prints, wiring diagrams etc.
• Careful Thermal design including component selection and layout for thermal consideration given loads, de-rating for ambient specs, and heat sinking options.
• Thoughtful design for manufacturability (DFM), collaborating with production team with attention to mfg keep aways, spacings, polarities, poke yoke design etc.
• Design Verification of controls, to include noise testing (ESD, conducted emissions, ring wave etc) and thermal chamber testing under load.
• Work closely with internal teams including purchasing, customer service, manufacturing, quality, mechanical and software engineering etc.
Qualifications
• 3 years or more experience developing embedded electronic controls.
• Experience with schematics capture tools, preferably Mentor Graphics.
• BSEE Degree is required.
