What You Will Do
- Record verbatim proceedings of courts, legislative assemblies, committee meetings, and other proceedings, using stenograph machines
- Prepare accurate final transcript per client’s request/ Submit final ASCII via online portal
- Proofread transcripts for correct spelling of words
- Ask speakers to clarify inaudible statements
- Provide transcripts of proceedings upon request of judges, lawyers, or the public
- Transcribe recorded proceedings in accordance with established formats

What You Will Need
- Certified Shorthand Reporters (CSR) license, where applicable
- NCRA Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification, if your state does not offer a license
