GIS Product Engineer - Topographic Mapping

Overview

In this position, you will actively be involved in ensuring the usability, quality, and functionality of ArcGIS to support realistic workflows and use cases. You will work to identify and define customer requirements to build and release high quality software.

This team supports the national mapping agencies and community clients. You will be part of a talented cross-functional team of dynamic and passionate engineers to deliver capabilities that enable our customers to make a difference in communities around the world. The Professional Services division is the consulting and implementation arm of Esri. We break ground in new markets, push the technology envelope and ultimately deliver transformational solutions to high profile clients worldwide. Responsibilities

• Contribute to product design, through cartographic testing, documentation, and demonstration of new software capabilities
• Research and analyze customer requests, industry standards, and specifications to help define requirements
• Work collaboratively with software developers to build well-designed, robust, and high-quality software
• Represent Esri by providing best practices, user documentation, and technical assistance for the product
• Work and deliver results within given constraints of time and resources in our Agile software development life-cycle
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders to identify product needs; partner with product management and software development teams to build impactful products that deliver true value to our users

Requirements

• 2 years of professional experience in a similar position supporting similar responsibilities
• Experience developing, executing, and interpreting automated, functional, regression, and performance tests
• Experience in cartography and developing or working with topographic maps
• Enthusiasm for improving software capabilities for end users in real-world application
• Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, or STEM related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience with production mapping and defense mapping for authorities
• Experience using monitoring tools in real-world scenarios
• Experience with complex enterprise systems
• Master's Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Cartography Geography, Computer Science or STEM related field

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $72,800.00 - $124,800.00.
