Domain Architect
Major Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement multiple intermediate to advanced integrations using a variety of data interchange formats
- Maintain API, SI B2B, and IIB/ACE environments – create reusable, scalable, and efficient business processes and workflows
- Configure application services, adapters, and properties
- Participate in large IT projects – plan and develop technical strategies
- Provide input to functional and technical specifications for IT projects involving multiple teams
- Identify tasks in assigned projects, skills needed to complete tasks, and estimate duration
- Analyze and contribute to process improvements to resolve recurring issues
- Contribute to knowledge sharing documents, and improve existing content/knowledge
- Establish trusted partnerships with peers and all colleagues throughout the enterprise
- Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) – coach and train business users and other IT teams on new processes
- Track service level objectives for team metrics that quantify delivery achievements
- Construct and execute test plans to verify correct operation of implemented / completed solutions
- Recommend where IT resources can be utilized more efficiently and effectively`
- Maintain currency of technology solutions across portfolio of investment
- Perform disaster recovery testing
- Provide off-hours production support
- Support engagement through open and effective two-way communication across Essendant's business functions
- Review and approve functional and technical specifications and define standards
- Understand and demonstrate Essendant’s Core Values and Guiding Actions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge Required
- Expert in core integration toolsets including IBM B2B Sterling Integrator, or IBM ITX Design Studio and IBM Toolkit for IBM Integration Bus/IBM App Connect Enterprise
- Expert in X12, XML, JSON, fixed length, and delimited data interchange formats
- Expert in common data communications protocols such as HTTPS, AS2, sFTP, APIs, and MQ
- Expert in common application programming languages, for example: JAVA, BPML, SQL, Shell Scripting
- Proficient in UNIX/Linux
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated listening and learning ability
- Naturally inquisitive – visible desire to engage and rapidly learn
- Demonstrated skills in structured troubleshooting and issue resolution
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
Experience
- 10 years’ experience required
- Strong knowledge of programming, development concepts, and data transformation/communication
- Competent in relevant technologies / platforms
