We have an immediate need for a Prepress Technician to work Monday - Friday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. New starts are eligible for a signing bonus as well as monthly production bonuses after 30 days of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Converts digitally prepared files into Pre Press format.
• ArtPro for pre-press work a big plus.
• Act as technical liaison between sales, design, production and suppliers production files and proofs.
• Evaluates graphic files against manufacturing capabilities
• Use all software available to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintain proper and effective file management system, including backup and/or archive.
• Maintains effective system statistics.
• Maintains service controls as required
• Ensure capability of operating all peripheral equipment, proofing, etc.
• Inspect plates for plate defects
• Use production schedule to select the proper job jacket
• Compare plates against samples or proofs
• Identify and bundle the plates

• Review all incoming art files and changes required to all files to be prepared and properly formatted for Pre Press.
• Utilize all software tools to ensure optimization of efficiency and effectiveness
• Ensure proper file management system
• Develop cost estimates as required for customer service/sales

• Cross train in all aspects of Mac, Pre Press and Platemaking
• Monitor in-house customers press approvals.
• Keep abreast of current manufacturing technologies
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

• High School or GED required, some college preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in related field.
• Previous experience in pharmaceutical environment preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of working in a quality driven environment preferred.
• Previous experience using an ERP system preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge required (i.e. Mac and Window platforms)

Physical Requirements:

• Position regularly requires lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Position requires manual dexterity to reach/handle items, work with fingers.
• Ability to bend, reach, and pull on and around equipment and the facility.
