Description
Summary of Job:
Operate various metal working equipment, perform complex set-ups to produce precision machined components to print as instructed by lead or supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Proficiently use most hand, manual, and automatic machinery.
Install tooling in machine
Set up fixturing and precision measuring equipment to produce acceptable first piece.
Perform sharpening tasks, offsets, and adjustments based on tool wear within current program.
Complete SPC tasks
Measure and check parts
Set up shop equipment and proof to achieve a first piece quality product.
Keep waste low, minimize scrap, use labor efficiently, and account for all parts on jobs.
Improve on product through-put via additional operations such as multiple machine operation, de-burring, cleaning, etc. whenever possible.
Operate machinery at or above company standards for both time and quality
Complete all necessary documentation per company policy or verbal instruction for first piece approval.
Keep machinery and work area clean, safe, maintained, and organized.
Assist in other areas in order to meet the needs of Essex and its customers.
Comply with all PPE and machine guarding as necessary with each job.
Requirements
3-5 Years of shop experience in setup and operate along with some Trade School Education; or equivalent
