- Use statistics and other quality tools to monitor, control, and improve production processes.
- Troubleshoot production processes and product issues.
- Identify training requirements and provide training.
- Perform internal audits and follow up on corrective actions.
- Lead operations in quality initiatives.
- Provide guidance on process control tools.
- Improve the production process.
- Maintain frequent, detailed, and efficient communication with employees.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams, for example maintenance, production, and quality.
- Partner with ELOA Operations & Technology Group Quality team.
- Support new product development
- Interact with purchasing, marketing, R&D, and other functions of the company
- Train production team on new processes or process improvements
- Interact with customers to resolve quality issues.
- Lead supplier quality improvement.
- Ensure compliance to FDA standards.
- Understand, troubleshoot, and perfect the use of quality systems.
- Analyze reports, identify trends and implement process improvements.
- Act as an important contributor to the total business process.
- Insist upon safety and quality in everything we do.
- Take personal responsibility for administrative details.
- Interpret and ensure consistent application of established policies and procedures.
- Collect information and prepare departmental reports.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationship with co-workers, subordinates and customers.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by managing director.
- Bachelors degree in related discipline. Masters degree preferred.
- CQE or 5 years relevant experience. ISO 9000 a plus.
- 5 years demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Statistical software expertise. Minitab a plus.
- Knowledge of basic optical lab operations preferred or equivalent experience in a pull flow environment preferred.
- Demonstrated technical writing skill.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access to provide necessary reports to management.
- Mathematical/analytical skills consistent with statistical process control.
- Ability to demonstrate and communicate quality methods to individuals, teams, and at formal training sessions.
- Training program development skills a plus.
- Self-starter and self-directed.
