GENERAL FUNCTIONS
The Director of Quality Manufacturing leads a team of salaried and hourly professionals like engineers, technicians, supervisors, leads and inspectors that support the whole manufacturing process for Oakley products. His role is responsible for defining and implementing the strategic vision of the Quality function within the manufacturing environment with the primary responsibility to guarantee product compliance to internal and external requirements as well driving initiatives to reduce waste related to non-quality cost (Scrap, Re-work, non-conformity management). The role will require ability to develop global alignment with other regions and sister plants, as well as ability to engage and influence other key functions of the Oakley organization to foster an environment where the right Quality of product and processes is the main driver for the success of the organization.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define Quality Manufacturing organization strategy and align key initiatives with internal and global organization
- Establish, develop and keep evolving the Quality Policies, while promoting the department’s culture across the organization
- Act as changing agent with proactive and engaging attitude towards other functions with specific objective of improving the effectiveness of the management system and process reliability.
- Design and prepare Annual budget in terms of Scrap and non-quality related cost, CAPEX for In process control equipments and measurement systems, OPEX for the management of the Quality Manufacturing structure.
- Drives organizational improvement projects based on Market data and After Sales Input coordinating and influencing resources with and without his direct area of responsibility
- Leverages the global organization to efficiently drive improvement of processes and product performance
- Responsible for driving non-quality cost reduction projects (5-10% yearly reduction of Direct material cost)
- Leads efforts & focus on product quality problems and gives direction to systematically drive improvements for those problems (Related to LQS -outgoing Quality- and Quality Service Levels)
- Design, Plan and shape the organizational structure with specific focus of developing talent and fostering a safe, challenging and rewarding work environment
- Lead and coordinate a team of approximately 5-10 direct reports (Engineers and Sr Engineers, Supervisors) and an overall organization of 35-35 professionals
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
- 10 years of experience in Quality Department
- 5 years of management/leadership experience
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced MFG environment, in a manner that drives teamwork, collaboration and a high degree of integrity
- Working Knowledge of Quality Systems, quality process controls, material performance testing and has a solid understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning
- Experience supporting the overall business goals as they relate to the Quality team/leadership
- Working Knowledge of Quality Systems, quality process controls, material performance testing, Quality statistic tools (such as capability analysis, GRR, Correlation analysis, sampling plan establishment and other)
- Financial and business administration acumen
- In-depth knowledge of product development process and design control, as well as verification/validation requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Champion or Black Belt certification
- ASQ Certification
Pay Range: $[[165,158.00 ]] - $[[231,951.60 ]]
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
