The Fabrication Manager is an integral part of the operations leadership staff and is responsible for coordinating activities of workers engaged in the fabrication of sheet metal products, structural steel skids and copper parts. Develops, implements, and monitors processes designed to build an ever-improving quality of products, safely, on time and under budget. Proposes changes and equipment necessities to the Operations Manager for improvements. Must work with high energy & a sense of urgency, be self-motivated and detailed oriented, leading by example and holding processes & people accountable to defined standards.

As Fabrication Manager You Will
- Help build a positive culture among hourly staff, ensuring that leaders set the example by leading from the front, and always handling issues with professionalism
- Look for efficiencies throughout fabrication, offering solutions to complex daily issues
- Must adhere to all Safe Practices, wearing and caring for all PPE required by OSHA and Company Policy
- Understands units of measure, using calipers, tape measures and specialized calibration equipment
- Ability to read CADCAM files & blueprints to validate part accuracy, quality of product and to understand throughput capacity within the operation
- Analyzes work orders, bills of materials and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations and sequence of operations required. Also looks for allotted time for jobs and conveys to employees involved in producing the production work order.
- Requisitions dies, fixtures and material as necessary. Responsible for associated machinery and reports needed, as well as maintenance and machine repairs.
- Ensures machines are set up and operated optimally sees to the inspection of all work in progress.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Confers with Supervisors and Leads to coordinate activities of individual departments. Manages employees in department to time estimates for each job. Holds employees accountable for these times.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods equipment performance and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Assist in plant layout and process and material flow.
- Relates and enforces company policies and safety regulations to workers. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Selects, manages, and coordinates with subordinate lead personnel for each area of manufacturing.
- Reviews time and production records and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Assists sales functions as required to establish methods, costing and scheduling of custom products.
- Directly responsible for 20-50 employees in the fabrication/ machine shop.
- Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include seeing that employees are trained. Performs performance appraisals, recommending rewards and/or discipline for employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Performing annual reviews and initial pay rate increases for all fabrication employees with operations manager.
- Bachelors degree in relevant field with six years of experience; One year of experience may be substituted for each year of required education
- Have experience working in a manufacturing facility, with a general understanding of general safe practices.
- Have a proven leadership record driving production processes and implementing lean manufacturing practices
