What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Engineer position at Estee Lauder?
Lead the Industrial Engineering requirements associated with the commercialization of new products or technologies. Benchmark and develop optimized labor standards, provide insight, input and support for line trials, Dfmea, Pfmea and RFT Tech Readiness. Research, develop and create improvements, which enhance productivity, cost, product quality and customer service of the Estee Lauder companies. Works closely with the Supply Chain management on the development and implementation of global strategies and initiatives, including Category strategies. Develops and implements strategic projects supporting the plants and affiliates. Ensure the best manufacturing and distribution techniques are used in production and distribution for optimum quality, customer service and quantity output, provide engineering support for capital equipment purchases and perform time studies to optimize pick and pack, technical services and filling and assembly operations. Develops production and distribution layouts determining optimal flow and requirements. This position will also facilitate the Industrial Engineering value analysis/value engineering efforts.
- New / Changed Product Commercialization – works closely with the site Commercialization teams and Operations in the development of labor standards, execution of line trials, RFT Tech readiness process, Dfmea, Pfmea, Category product Transfers etc. (20%)
- Master Data- Develop and input Master Production versions for new and changed products. (20%)
- Collaborate with Central Engineering and Project Engineers to develop ROI and business case justification for Capital Project and strategic initiatives. (10%)
- Develops Production and Distribution layouts, determines manpower requirements, conducts capacity analysis. ( 10 % )
- Participate in the ideation, development, evaluation, recommendation, and execution of advanced technologies such as Robotics, Late Stage Differentiation, Manufacturing and Distribution Execution systems. (10%)
- Assists in the development, recommendation, and implementation of improvement projects and systems for all Plants and Distribution Centers. (10 % )
- Provide IE technical support for Value Realization and Optimization initiatives. (5%)
- Researches, recommends, and implements improved productivity procedures, processes or systems to improve labor utilization in both manufacturing and distribution. (10 % )
- Works closely with other Industrial Engineers to ensure consistent methods and best practices are used in developing and monitoring productivity and efficiency (5 % )
Qualifications
- PC expertise (Office, Simulation, SAP, Autocad, other databases)
- Strong analytical and data management skills
- Must be able to multitask and establish priorities
- Position may require travel to Estee Lauder locations
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required
- Min 3 year of Industrial Engineering, Production or Distribution, or equivalent internship
- Lean Certification – Green Belt (preferred)
- University Degree
