POSITION: Quality Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Quality
REPORTS TO: Quality Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Support manufacturing by helping to implement quality processes and quality systems in order to improve production, enhance quality, and reduce operating costs. Report process and/or product deficiencies to Quality Manager and conduct the problem-solving activities needed to correct deficiencies in processes and/or products. Implement corrective actions and perform analysis of non-conforming material. Support the activities of department personnel and perform such activities as needed. Perform work activities in compliance with company Health and Safety Program and ISO 9001 Quality System.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Utilize the quality control system to ensure conformity of purchased material, manufacturing processes, and final products to ISO quality standards and lean manufacturing practices
- Complete final audit and visual inspection on production parts ensuring parts meet customer expectations
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of complaints regarding quality or technical issues
- Work within the formal corrective and preventive action program to reduce rework or other quality costs
- Participate in internal, external, and third-party quality audits to ensure facility is in compliance with quality standards and procedures as needed. Assist in ISO certification audits as needed.
- Assist in training sessions on quality-related issues as needed to aid in co-workers learning the inspection/quality control process
- Provide direction to internal and external customers and suppliers
- Assist in qualifying and assessing suppliers
- Support the daily activities of Quality Department personnel and perform such activities as needed
- Identify improvements of production methods that will increase quality and profitability
- Help to solve problems related to quality, fabrication, delivery, or other task-related difficulties
- Perform projects within the guidelines of our ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 Quality System
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance
- Wear appropriate work uniform required for the workplace that is in good repair
- Wear personal protective equipment required by OSHA and company Health and Safety Program
- Exhibit professional attitude and demeanor
- Perform production operations on CNC punching and forming machines as needed
- Provide support to other departments to enable work projects to be accomplished
QUALIFICATIONS
- Has minimum of one year of quality-related experience in manufacturing environment
- Has experience with ISO Quality Management Systems and Lean Manufacturing
- Has experience with PPAP, CAR, FMEA, and ISO requirements
- Has experience using ERP or other manufacturing system
- Has experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with PowerPoint also preferred
- Possesses strong interpersonal, team-building, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Exhibits strong team orientation and flexibility with changing business needs
- Strong attention to detail and possess talent for catching inconsistencies and non-conforming features through visual audit process
- Exhibits adequate verbal and written communication skills
- Exhibits good problem-solving skills
- Able to read drawings to include material and part specifications, tolerances, notes, symbols, and multiple part views
- Able to use measuring instruments such as digital calipers and protractors
