Job Description:

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for gathering use cases, evaluating existing workflows and determining next generation functionality by outlining requirements, future state diagrams and creating user stories for the delivery teams. The Sr Product Manager/ Owner sets, prioritizes, and evaluates work generated by the delivery teams and works closely with project managers, business analysts, software developers and account managers. Reports to the Head of Product.

You Will:         

  • Creates Vision & Scope documents, BRD business plans, and product requirements for new products and product-based service programs.
  • Interviews current and prospective clients to understand their needs with the ability to turn that into product features by developing the assets mentioned above.
  • Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on.
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product.
  • Assists the prototype of new features to aid in creating requirements and design documents.
  • Creates value stream maps and process flow diagrams to demonstrate existing and future state workflows.
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
  • Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
  • Lead the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new   functionalities.
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
  • Ability to apply basic UI/UX concepts and best practices to embed into requirements for design.
  • Gathers intel from outside IT departments like operations, sales and marketing during the product development cycle.
  • Plays a key role in tracking competitive challenges, market trends, and helps determine appropriate positioning and features to sustain competitive advantage in target segments.
  • Works closely with sales, marketing, customers, IT, and business operations to assure product issues are prioritized and resolved.
  • Provides product demonstration and expertise for sales, account management, or client when necessary.
  • Trains sales and service on new products.

Your Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, business, and/or marketing is preferred.
  • 8 years’ experience in building/designing products for Brokerage, Wealth Mgt, Investment Mgt, or financial services industry.
  • Experience in IT roles such business operations, agile development, and/or marketing is a plus.
  • Experience presenting key strategic initiatives to audiences to gain acceptance for new product features.
  • 5 years’ experience in brokerage back office and front office accounting systems
  • 5 years’ experience in trading, portfolio mgt, performance mgt product decision making experience
  • 5 years’ experience in trading and settlement system processing and understanding in how major financial service organizations like DTCC, NSCC, and stock exchanges handle trade settlement processing.
  • 5 years’ experience in advisor and investor-based systems in designing and deploying products.
  • 5 years’ experience and research and gap analysis against competitors with sound analytical skills to access product marketplace.
  • Must be able to calculate ROI/IRR for a new product. Expected to use common ideation processes, vision/scope/functional gap skills, and business requirements frameworks to produce written and graphical documentation.
  • Interface with various levels of people including clients, sales, business operations, and IT groups.
  • Coordinate the efforts of a team, at times as a product visionary, project manager, and lead teams through product design meetings.
  • Strong analytical skills involving complex information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement problem solutions.
  • Work with limited guidance and supervision.
  • Expert designing PowerPoint, Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.
  • Communicate effectively with management as well as technical and non-technical employees.
