Library Multi-Media Technician

The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library in Monticello, New York is seeking applicants for a full-time (38 hours per week) Library Multi-Media Technician position. We're looking for a team player that is organized and has experience as an instructor in the uses of technology. The position requires knowledge of use, repair, & operation of computers, servers and peripherals as well as network management and applications software. The ability to communicate well in person, on the phone, and in writing is required. He/she will teach computer classes and conduct one-on-one informational or technology sessions. Experience in curriculum development and the ability to speak Spanish are desirable but not required. This person will report to the library director. The position involves some evening and weekend hours.

Additional Responsibilities:

· Some social media management.

· Library website management

This position is subject to Civil Service Examination

Qualifications:
Either:
(A)
Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the
New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering Technology
or related field and one (1) year of work experience involving the maintenance and repair
of computers and related peripheral equipment or

(B)
Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the
New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate's degree in
Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering Technology
or related field and three (3) years of work experience involving the maintenance and
repair of computers and related peripheral equipment or

(C)
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and
five (5) years of experience involving the maintenance and repair of computers and related
peripheral equipment.

Possession of CompTIA A Certification (or equal certification) may be substituted for
one (1) year of required experience.
