SMF (an Etnyre International Company) is a full-service heavy metal manufacturing facility that specializes in heavy and light fabrication for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). With two locations, Minonk, IL and Anderson, SC, our organization has a fifty-year history servicing the construction, power generation, agriculture, and mining industries. The Value Stream Manager is responsible for the development, training, retention, and supervision of department members in order to maintain production schedules, utilize people and equipment for maximum effectiveness, and ensure quality of production.

MAJOR DUTIES:

1. Works closely with Manufacturing Systems to determine scheduling, quantity of parts, and priority of production.
2. Plans and executes, through effective use of assigned personnel, the specific phases of the operation in order to meet the production schedule.
3. Manages and communicates value stream performance metrics (safety, quality, velocity, and cost)
4. Develops members for increased job performance and career advancement.
5. Works to identify and eliminate safety hazards throughout the organization.
6. Commits to and manages performance relative to established work standards.
7. Encourages member input and suggestions for continuous improvement.
8. Manages member performance relative to execution measurements.
9. Maintains CANDO, visual factory, and Operator Preventative Maintenance.
10. Utilize TER methods to deliver process improvement opportunities to manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement departments.
11. Follows established personnel procedures concerning absenteeism, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, terminations, etc.
12. Keeps communication lines open and encourages open discussion of any concerns.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A broad knowledge of appropriate supervisory techniques and of the functions within the department is required, as well as a broad understanding of other manufacturing functions in the Company. Minimum 5 years of experience leadership, supervisory, and operations management in heavy steel manufacturing environment required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have ability to effectively access all work areas in area of responsibility. Must have sufficient agility to observe all processes and product features including confined spaces and unusual accesses.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

All work will be completed in a timely manner within established quality standards and consistent with Company policies, priorities and needs. The individual holding this position has a broad responsibility for carrying out the objectives of the Company including supporting all company policies, meeting goals, and working as a contributing team member.

Performance will be measured on the function/duties described in the position description, accomplishments during the review period, and the methods/work skills used to achieve the goals.

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
