What you'll be doing:
This role requires strong analysis and communication skills, substantive anti-money laundering expertise, and an ability to address and explain interesting issues in a critical area.
As the Head of US AML, you will:
- Serve as a critical member and leader in the legal and compliance organization including leading and developing a team of AML professionals
- Coordinate and oversee an effective Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and OFAC program that is in compliance with current industry best practices, as well as regulatory guidance and requirements.
- Apply your substantive AML expertise and experience to eToro’s broker-dealer and crypto businesses.
- Develop and implement enhancements of the BSA/AML/OFAC/USA PATRIOT Act monitoring systems to ensure that appropriate parameters are in place to identify suspicious or fraudulent activity.
- Maintain an effective customer risk rating and monitoring program including initial and ongoing assessments.
- Oversee the review and analyze unusual account activity in customers’ accounts.
- Establish and maintain appropriate Suspicious Activity Report processes that promote: quality investigation and research; consistent decisions; and complete and detailed documentation.
- Work closely with legal and compliance teammates and other partners on regulatory inquiries, exams, and litigation cases and lead on AML issues connected to those matters.
- Conduct BSA/AML/OFAC risk assessment at least annually with consideration of risks related to the company’s products, services, employees, and geographies.
- Advise business partners on AML issues related to the development and implementation of new products and services.
- Oversee the administering of BSA/AML/OFAC related training programs for directors, management, and employees and provide BSA guidance and coaching to employees.
- Maintain BSA/AML related monitoring and reporting systems.

We expect you to be well qualified for this position if you have these characteristics:
- Minimum of 8 years’ direct AML experience working with financial companies and/or in relevant government roles
- Bachelor's degree required
- CAMS or equivalent certification desired
- Thorough knowledge of AML rules, regulations, and guidance
- Ability to develop and maintain detailed reporting
- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to represent the company in its communications with regulators, auditors, and other parties
- Ability to effectively respond to inquiries from governmental agencies
- Ability to report a summary of detected AML risks to the company's Board of Directors and senior management
- Experience managing other professionals
