Job Description
HLA Lead Technologist Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- In addition to and in conjunction with the employee’s existing job description and under the supervision of laboratory management, they shall perform the following activities:
- Provides leadership in the department as an acting mentor and role model for staff
- Serves as a department-related content subject matter expert
- Establishes priorities in work to be done and assigns specific activities to technologist
- If applicable, directs internal proficiency/competency program according to regulatory standards and operating procedures.
- Resolves service-related issues and coordinates information and problem solving with lab manager, staff, and clients in a timely fashion
- Providing input on employee performance to manager as directed for employee reviews.
- Oversees the operation of the laboratory which includes but is not limited to supply inventory, ordering, and maintaining the work area.
- Serves as a liaison for the department to other internal departments.
- Assists in making sure policies and procedures are followed and that training is complete for all staff members
- Monthly on-call rotations assigned by the Laboratory Manager
- Other duties as assigned
- Supports Eurofins DPT’s business philosophy, leadership values, and ethics
- In order to meet Eurofins DPT’s quality policy and objectives, all employees are expected to meet basic expectations of Eurofins DPT’s quality management system including, but not limited to good workmanship, adherence to standard operational procedures, training, good documentation practices, and accurate recordkeeping.
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution or equivalent
- Preferred one has an Advanced degree (MS)
- CHT/CHS certification required
- If required by the State in which the laboratory is located, the appropriate State License to perform clinical laboratory testing
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Flow and molecular methodologies experience
- At minimum must meet Technologist II criteria
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in the applicable department
- Knowledge of the principles applicable to the facility and regulated laboratory testing industry
- Ability to instruct subordinates and delegate tasks
- Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures
- Analytical thinking and communication skills with past leadership roles
- Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance
- Excellent and effective written and oral communication skills, inter-personal, and negotiation skills
- Intermediate Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other systems
- Working in controlled environment and within Quality Systems under regulatory requirements

- This laboratory carefully maintains all hazardous materials. All employees must abide by DPT Eurofins’s Safety and Exposure procedures. This includes using the provided safety clothing and equipment.

Position is full-time working 8:30am - 5:00pm Rotation On Call. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Centennial, CO are encouraged to apply.
