Job Description
• Contributes as part of a small team of scientists towards the development/optimization, and qualification of analytical methods to support biological therapeutic product development and characterization.
• 90% Method development, qualification and process supporting related work, as well as associated protocol/report documentation and presentations; may include technology transfer activities, regulatory support, and possible project team participation
• 10% analytical testing
• Understand and applies advanced scientific principles, theories, concepts, practices, and standards to process and product development
• Independently execute method development for: elucidation and monitoring of functional properties of protein therapeutics and the quantitation of process- and product-related impurities using techniques like SEC, RP, CE etc.
• Troubleshoot instrument (HPLC/UPLC) and assay related issues independently.
• Computer competency is essential with emphasis on spreadsheet-based software.
• Conduct work in compliance with cGMP/GLP, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
Qualifications
• BS/MS in Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical or related discipline
• 2-5 years industry experience with separation based HPLC/UPLC and CE methods and demonstrated experience working with Empower or Chromeleon software. Preferably experience of working one or more of the following methods: SEC, RP-HPLC, peptide map and glycan map.
• Knowledge of theories, principles and techniques of relevant scientific areas and basic understanding of industry practices and standards.
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
