Job Description

Sample Logistics Team Lead responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• In addition to and in conjunction with the employee’s existing job description and under the supervision of laboratory management, they shall perform the following activities:
• Serves as a resource for technicians, technologists and department management
• Provides leadership in the department as an acting mentor and role model for staff
• In tandem with the supervisor/manager, will oversee the scheduling of staff to ensure production schedules are met
• Serves as a department-related content subject matter expert
• Establishes priorities in work to be done and assigns specific activities to technicians
• If applicable, directs internal proficiency/competency program according to regulatory standards and operating procedures
• Resolves service-related issues and coordinates information and problem solving with lab manager, staff and clients in a timely fashion
• Communicates problems and discuss resolution with supervisor
• Providing input on employee performance to manager as directed for employee reviews
• Oversees the operation of the laboratory which includes but is not limited to supply inventory, ordering, and maintaining the work area
• Serves as a liaison for the department to other internal departments
• Assists in making sure policies and procedures are followed and that training is complete for all staff members
• Aides in implementing changes and corrective action to help with process improvement
• Assists with personnel management including but not limited to scheduling, minor conflict resolution, training, and competency
• Interfaces with auditors
• Gives insights and information to the department management with annual evaluations of employees
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• Required: Highschool Diploma
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology form an accredited institution
• If required by the State in which the laboratory is located, the appropriate State License to perform clinical laboratory testing
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Work Experience Requirements:

• Previous experience leading/managing teams
• Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in the applicable department
• Knowledge of the principles applicable to the facility and regulated laboratory testing industry
• Ability to instruct subordinates and delegate tasks
• Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures
• Strong communication skills & analytical thinking

• This laboratory carefully maintains all hazardous materials.  All employees must abide by CellTX's Safety and Exposure procedures.  This includes using the provided safety clothing and equipment.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, 1st shift, Tuesday - Saturday 9:00am - 5:30pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Tucson, AZ are encouraged to apply.
