Job Description
Rare and Neurologic Diseases Therapeutic Area Data Analyst
Scientist with experience in data analysis, with expertise in the development and application of analytical and data-driven strategies to neurological diseases. The scientist will be part of the RNDTA Biomarkers and Patient Stratification program to support therapeutic areas and the acceleration of research portfolio.
Job Description and Key Responsibilities
Contribute to cross-functional projects involving RNDTA, Translational Medicine, Digital functions for the development and application of precision medicine data-driven strategies to therapeutic programs in the research pipeline
Work with external partners like MJFF and EPND to internalize and analyze data obtained from public-private partnerships
Work with Project Leads to evaluate new therapeutic targets and identify the best in vivo models to test these targets
Build strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including project leaders, the research leadership team, and other opinion leaders
Qualifications
PhD with 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent; substantial understanding of translational science required
Machine Learning experience especially around Supervised and unsupervised learning (SVMs, neural networks, and logistic regression, k-means, hierarchical clustering, and expectation maximization)
Statistical Modeling including a good grasp of linear models, survival analysis is required
Prior knowledge in analyzing data from Metabolomics / Proteomics platforms like Olink, Nulisa, Cardinal MSI, GSEA. Knowledge on analyzing single cell transcriptomics data would be preferred but not an essential
Proficient in using Databases and Repositories like KEGG, Reactome, TCGA, HMDB, and MassBank, STRINGDB, ADDI and Neuroproteome
Proficient in Python - NumPy / Pandas, R/Bioconductor (expert), RShiny, MySQL, Snowflake
Computing Environments: Git/GitHub, Docker, WDL / Cromwell, Nextflow, CWL, AWS, HPC (Slurm), Google Cloud
Experience in precision medicine and/or systems biology, genetic and genomics applied to patient stratification and development of biomarkers
Deep scientific disease knowledge and expertise in neuroscience
Ability to work in a highly interactive fast-paced, goal-oriented team environment, inspired by play-to-win strategy
Outstanding communication skills and an ability to summarize and present the results of scientific studies to a variety of audiences
