Job Description
Position Summary:
The Senior Scientific Lab Lead develops and implements scientific and technical protocols and serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within assigned technical areas.
This Senior Scientific Lab Lead position is primarily responsible for:
·Serving as SME within assigned areas.
·Consulting with the clients to properly scope client projects and assure that scope of work meets regulatory guidelines and industry standards
·Presenting at symposiums, conferences, and other relevant industry meetings to grow the awareness of the Eurofins offerings
·Engaging the Project Teams to educate and hand-off the knowledge within the SME role.
·Consulting with the Project Teams when technical issues arise during the execution of the project
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the primary responsibilities, other duties may be assigned, as required:
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned methods and technologies.
· Proposes the expertise needed for the Study Directors, Principal Investigators (GLP) or Scientific Director (GCP and GMP) and Lead Scientists (for assay development studies) for each client study based on the client requirements and experience with the client
- Leads the implementation of new technologies, including oversite of equipment acquisitions, installation and performance verifications, and the development and implementation of procedures, templates, and other documentation.
- Performs routine and complex assays according to laboratory SOP and Test Methods. Includes routine maintenance and troubleshooting of assays and equipment.
- Responsible for data review, analysis review and ensuring accuracy and integrity of data reporting.
- Provides scientific guidance that supports technical writing and review of projects within assigned SME roles.
- Provides Principal Investigators with scope of the work, estimates of time required to complete the project, level of technical challenges for expectation setting and scientific input for use in proposal preparation.
- Responsible for mentoring scientists and analysts to grow the skill sets of the individual, as well as the skill sets of the team.
- Responsible for driving lean efficiencies and practices through the laboratory and project teams.
- Serves in a Scientific Director role, as assigned.
·Understands and follows all procedures and processes required for work performed under Regulatory Compliance (i.e., GxP, FDA/GLP and GCP, OECD, or CLIA).
- Develops new ideas for new services offerings.
- Contributes to tactical and strategic marketing practices for site services.
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Strong understanding and practice of project management skills
- Regular attendance and punctuality with ability to work overtime to accommodate business need
- High work ethic
- Knowledge of laboratory EHS practices and requirements for biologicals and chemicals
