We are searching for a motivated & experienced Mixer.
The Mixer position assists in the mixing operations to make the perfect dough required to accomplish the customer specification as well as learns the process of mixing.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES: include the following
- Assists in the operation of Mixing equipment
- Applies and follows the startup and shutdown procedure for safety and productivity reasons.
- Responsible for signing out mixing kit if performing duties of Mixer.
- Visually inspects scaled ingredients and keeps area properly stocked.
- Loads minor ingredients and ice in accordance with recipe into the mixing machines.
- Retrieves and replenishes scrap dough from the production lines into mixing machines.
- Assists the mixer operator in the lifting of ingredients weighing more than 50 lbs.
- Cuts and separates dough into specific quantities and manually feeds into hopper to the automatic feeder. (on specific lines and with specific processes as required)
- Verifies visually the scrap conveyor (North) and scale (South) to remix the approved weight according to the recipe.
- Records and reports all information about the dough processed on mixing equipment.
- Scales minor ingredients when necessary, such as oil, crumbled yeast, etc.
- Responsible for verifying and documenting number of ingredients.
- Maintains clean and orderly work area.
- Works closely with Line Operator to keep the mixer running to avoid downtime, or stop the mixers when other equipment has had a breakdown.
- Informs Mixer operator, Shift Assistant Manager of any problems or complications that may arise
- Attends company scheduled meetings when applicable (i.e., safety meetings, production meetings, department meetings.).
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
- Contributes to the continuous improvement culture.
- Ability to follow all safety policies and work in a safe manner.

In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments. Must follow all Company Safety policies, as well as all GMP regulations and all lock-out/tag-out requirements according to OSHA requirements.
- As an employee at Europastry you must also be aware of issues associated with food safety and safe food handling practices that are relevant to your job. Food Safety Training conducted by a qualified staff member is mandatory. You must know how to recognize, prevent and alleviate food safety hazards. This position requires good working knowledge of the SQF code.
