What you will do:

The Web Developer will work as part of a team to create and support a wide variety of digital platforms, capabilities, features and functions. Your primary responsibilities will include providing quality solutions in conjunction with the manager, other developers, our in-house Marketing team, and building the front-ends of our web-based, internal tools. The focus of this position is ongoing development and support of digital site/content management systems, advertising platforms and business intelligence systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in all full lifecycle software development of web applications.
  • Communicates effectively with technical team members as well as content subject matters experts.
  • Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with other departments to find solutions.
  • Plans, implements, and supports page designs and features in multiple content management systems (CMS).
  • Contribute to the maintenance and update of our corporate websites and online brand presence with additional landing pages, functional upgrades and trackable links.
  • Flexibility/adaptability. Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Copes effectively with complexity and change.
  • Accountable for project plans, timelines, project tracking, meeting delivery dates and support on assigned projects and tasks.
  • On-call support of digital platforms and operations as needed.

Requirements, minimum education level, and experience:

  • Minimum of B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years web/digital development experience.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in developing software applications using PHP, HTML, SQL and JavaScript.
  • Experience in custom responsive web design.
  • Experience in cross-browsers/cross-platform testing.
  • Experience working with REST Web APIs (XML and JSON).
  • Experience with creating Angular custom variables in pure JS.
  • Experience with code repository tools such as GitHub.
  • Experience with WordPress and customizing themes.
  • Experience with Zapier preferred.
  • Familiar with current web analytics like GA4. Experience in tracking and campaign creation in GA4 preferred.
  • Familiar with SEO best practices.
  • Familiar with pingdom, Google Webmaster Tools, Google PageSpeed Insights tools.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence preferred.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Applicants must complete a developer testing/QA of work.
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong React, Angular, Node JS, HTML, CSS, Advance JS, JavaScript, HTML, XML, JSON and REST skills.
  • Business analytics experience – web analytics or otherwise.
  • Flexible, self-starter with the ability to take ownership of numerous, fast-moving projects at once and meticulously follow processes.
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to follow-through.
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to build and grow technical skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and information and translate into actionable strategies.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

Physical Requirements, Work Environment and Travel:

Must be able to focus for long periods of time at a computer screen given the nature of the digital business. This is a hybrid remote/on-site position and will be expected to be able to come into our downtown Charleston, SC office, as needed, to collaborate with teammates in-person.
