We take pride in being known in the industry as nimble, entrepreneurial and responsive About the Role: Everest is looking for an AVP, Underwriter to join our South Region’s Commercial Casualty team. This position will be based in Houston, TX. For the right individual, the role can be based out of other locations in Texas. Responsibilities include but not limited to: High level individual contributor influencing and collaborating with internal stakeholders with future growth potential as a Team Leader or Territory Leader. Participates in the development and execution of business strategy necessary to drive profitable growth. Establishes and maintains broker relationships in the South Region (primarily in Texas) with a concentration on primary casualty business. Utilize authority to underwrite and price business for the following lines of coverage: Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Commercial Auto liability, while adhering to divisional underwriting guidelines. Qualifications, Education & Experience: College degree preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience (10 years preferred) underwriting Primary Casualty insurance. CPCU, CRIS, ARM or other insurance certifications are a plus Should have experience and/or expertise in working with a broad array of program structures – everything from guaranteed cost to large deductibles. Existing relationships with Texas brokers handling primary casualty business and/or direct client relationships required. Possess strong presentation, communication, and business development skills.
