Developing and cultivating new and existing carrier and reinsurance broker relationships to maintain an opportunity pipeline that will lead to the achievement of department premium & production goals. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service to internal and external customers. Contribute to specific performance plans assigned to the IR division to reach our projected premium and profitability goals. Collaborate with all functional areas of the company including claims, accounting, contract wording, and actuarial to support company objectives. Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, market trends in the insurance and reinsurance marketplace. Attend industry conferences/meetings as necessary. Travel as required to achieve the above. Other duties as assigned. Work Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, or above and insurance certifications, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of casualty underwriting with commercial lines insurance company or reinsurance company (facultative, program or treaty). Prior knowledge of reinsurance contracts is not necessary but a plus. Ability to stay organized within a fast paced, team-oriented, and dynamic work environment with the ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize tasks. Be self-motivated and able to effectively and efficiently work remotely when, and if, necessary. Demonstrated knowledge of underwriting pricing for auto liability, general liability, workers compensation and excess/umbrella liability. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong relationship management and business development skills. Possess excellent analytical skills. Possess good computer skills, including working knowledge of various Microsoft and web-based programs. Willing to work hybrid in either our New York City, Stamford, CT or Warren, NJ office For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $135,000 annually.
