Position Summary:
This position joins our dynamic operations team as an IT Specialist reporting directly to the IT Manager. This role will play a crucial part in monitoring and maintaining the computer systems and network of our virtual organization. Under the guidance of the IT Manager, this role will ensure the smooth functioning of our systems and provide support to optimize the users' experience. Responsibilities
- Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications to ensure seamless functionality and usability.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks for a virtual organization.
- Guide staff members (in-person, on the phone and via Zoom) to facilitate system setup and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware or software faults.
- Identify and replace necessary technological components to ensure optimal system functionality and performance.
- Set up and monitor meeting audio/visual equipment as needed for meetings.
- Deliver comprehensive support through the creation of procedural documentation and the generation of relevant reports to aid in the problem-solving and decision-making process.
- Provide support during the implementation and roll-out of new applications to ensure a smooth transition and user adoption.
- Set up new user accounts and profiles and address password issues in a timely matter.
- Promptly address help desk issues within the agreed-upon time frames.
- Take assigned tasks to completion or refer to proper third parties when necessary.
- Prioritize and efficiently manage multiple open cases concurrently.
- Conduct thorough testing and evaluation of new technologies to assess their suitability and effectiveness.
Required Job Skills:
- A bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field is appreciated but not required.
- A minimum of 5 years working experience in an IT support-related role is required.
- Advanced knowledge of desktop operating systems, primarily Windows 10 and 11.
- Deep understanding of PC hardware. Proficient in performing break/fix, installations and upgrades.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with specific emphasis on SharePoint and Microsoft Online infrastructure.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting software for the above platforms.
- Experience in identifying, removing and protecting against malware.
- Advanced knowledge of desktop networking (wired and wireless).
- Customer-oriented with excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with all employees.
- Ability to follow up on assignments from senior members of the team and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Proficient in documentation, including clear communication with end-users and thorough documentation of completed tasks and outstanding requirements.
Other Requirements:
- We are a fully remote telecommuting organization; must be able to work from home.
- Must be located in the Portland, Oregon/Vancouver, Washington metropolitan area.
- Drug test – must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull and carry materials weighing up to a maximum of 20 lbs.
- Must be able to travel overnight on occasion.
